Choosing the Right Sunroom Furniture

Your new sunroom furniture should make the room feel enjoyable and give it an environment that says,”Relaxing.” Once you get an idea of how you are going to decorate your sunroom, you need to take into consideration that your sunroom will endure all four-seasons. The furniture that you chose to design your room in must be able to endure, “mother nature” and all of her seasons. To give you a creative nudge, wicker is commonly used in sunroom and patio room additions. Wicker is creative looking, and well put together, from its sturdy construction to its lightweight. Wicker comes in many different forms, for example: tables, chairs, bookcases, lamp bases, and much more. On the down side to wicker, in the cold months the wicker may crack and begin to become moldy, and may require a substantial amount of cleaning. This may not be the type of furniture to use in your sunroom. A more all seasoned and longer lasting furniture choice is metal; it is good source of furniture if you live in a geographical area where winter always seems to outweigh summer, because it can be coated with such materials as PVC, and weather coating for better durability.

The sunroom furniture you choose will make or break the appeal of your sunroom, and you don’t want a poorly thought out sunroom furniture decision to ruin what should be the most striking architectural feature of your home.

Your choices of sunroom furniture will be limited by climate and, or course, budget, but if you live where the winters are mild or have a four season sunroom, wicker or rattan sunroom furniture will be ideal. If you have severe winters or a three season sunroom, wicker and rattan are our, but PVC coated metal furniture is a possibility, and teak or other wooden sunroom furniture will handle year long use while adding a natural look to your sunroom.

Selecting the Right Sunroom Furniture

There are many different styles of sunroom furniture to choose from and they all come with different price ranges attached to them. To prevent overspending set your budget before you start looking at furniture and stick to it. If your budget is $3,000 then don’t look at any sofa’s that are priced at $2,500! Decide on the items you want and how much you will spend on each piece. If you get a package deal and you can spend less than your budget that is great. It is okay to spend a little bit more but don’t get carried away.

To determine the style of furniture you should buy for your sunroom consider what you want the overall look to be like. Do you want it to appear formal or as a very relaxing place to unwind? Formal sunroom furniture looks very nice but it can be an extravagant expense if you won’t be using it very often. You need to like how the furniture looks but you also need to be comfortable when you use it.

The climate is an issue that has to be factored in as well when you are selecting furniture. Those who live in the East where it is very cold in the winter need to purchase furniture that stands up well to that type of environment. You can take some measures to help your furniture last longer. If you will only use the room during certain seasons then cover up the furniture when not in use. This will protect it from dust. You can also choose to install blinds to cover all the windows in the room. They can be closed when the room isn’t being used and quickly opened when you want the sunlight to shine in. Furniture can fade from too much direct sunlight.
